My Role

For this project I was the UI designer and illustrator, managing
the creation of visual design elements.

Challenge

As our client base grew, our Head of Product recognized the need for a unified approach. We decided to create a global design template for our SAT/ACT products. This template would serve as a foundational framework, allowing us to efficiently customize and adapt the design to meet each client’s unique needs and branding.

Design System / Illustrations

After developing our initial SAT app, our Head of Product suggested creating a design system that included interchangeable illustrations. This approach would allow us to easily adapt the app for clients who required 70-90% of the same content, ensuring flexibility and efficiency in meeting diverse needs.

Introduction

Moodboarding

We decided to prioritize illustrations in the design process. The goal was to create visuals that would captivate and engage students, making their experience enjoyable and guiding them seamlessly through the app. Our next step was to collaborate as a team to brainstorm ideas for 3D-style illustrations that would be visually appealing and engaging.

Sketch

This illustration emphasizes time, aligning with the question posed to students: "How long do you want to study daily?"

Study Length

This illustration was designed for the onboarding preferences, where students select the subjects they want to focus on and improve.

Subject Selection

When a student's package expired, they would see this expiration modal featuring a call-to-action to renew their subscription.

Package Expired Modal

As part of the onboarding experience, students are asked about their study preferences, including their projected target test date. This information is later used to determine the frequency of practice tests.

Design System

We created a design system by breaking down all design elements into modular, reusable components, enabling consistency and streamlined application throughout the project.
